Bengaluru hotels all set for dining with 100 % staff vaccinated, complete precautions to be taken

Nearly 70-80 % of the hotels will be open for dining starting from Monday with the hoteliers’ association giving complete assurance of the whole staff to be vaccinated.

With the hotels preparing on Sunday for the operations resuming on Monday, the hoteliers iterated that complete precautions will be taken to maintain the Covid-19 protocols at all the restaurants.

President of Bruhat Bangalore Hotels Association (BBHA), P C Rao said to DH, “We welcome the government’s decision to allow hotels to open with 50% occupancy.”

Rao further added, “We are now aware that maintaining protocol at all costs is our responsibility. We had a virtual meeting today (Sunday) and have conveyed the same to all the hoteliers and employees.”

He appealed to the people to avoid sitting for long hours in the restaurant to curb the spread of infection.

Rao said, “Since people remove their masks while eating and drinking, we want to limit that time (exposure) as much as possible. This will also enable hotels to seat more customers as only 50% occupancy rate is permitted.”

Apart from recurrent sanitization within the hotel premises, the hotels have also made the necessary arrangements for periodically checking temperatures. Also, every table would have only two chairs instead of four, to practice social distancing and all the staff will be given masks and gloves.

All the employees of the hotels are fully vaccinated, according to Chandrashekhar Hebbar, President of Karnataka Pradesh Hotels and Restaurants Association (KPHRA). He said, “Customers need not doubt the hotel’s safety.”

The associations have collaborated with Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to conduct a vaccination drive for their employees (which even covers the guards and housekeeping team) coming in here from other states and cities. The drive was held at FKCCI and few other hotels.
