4 people in Karnataka permitted to travel carrying ashes of the dead

The Karnataka Government on Monday directed the officials to not restrict the movement for cremation purposes, following which people are now allowed to conduct cremation, immerse ashes and finish the complete death ceremonies according to their religious rituals.

In an observation, where several individuals were travelling to immerse the ashes and performing the death ceremonies were asked to stop, the state government has released an order which gives the permit for a maximum of four people to travel for cremation purposes.

The government has given clear instructions to the district and police officials to let the people conduct the ceremonies. Although, the order emphasized on the people to strictly adhere to the Covid-19 protocols issued by the Centre.
