Army Chief Naravane will visit Nepal to restore the age-old friendship, Nepal Govt plans to revive Pancheswar project

Indian Army Chief General M.M.Naravane is scheduled to visit Nepal, beginning November 4, and will be meeting Nepal Prime Minister K P Sharma Oli, which will testify the diplomatic relations maintained by India with Kathmandu and officially rest the set-up controversy revolving around construction of road through Lipulekh for pilgrimage to Mansoravar in Tibet.

During his three-days visit to Nepal, President of Nepal, Bidya Devi Bhandari will be officially honoring the title of Honorary Chief of Nepal Army to General Naravane. Post the investiture ceremony, PM Oli will be having meeting with Army chief.

General Naravane will be subjected to esteemed treatment during his visit. This comes with the objective of Oli-led Nepal government for reviving the Pancheswar  multi-purpose project based on river Mahakali and also plans other hydro-electric projects with the India.

Moreover, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is highly keen on strengthening the ties with Nepal and has made it evident the Kathmandu holds a unique place with New Delhi despite the Party at power.

India’s plan of action Further on, India has significant plans to contribute for Nepal in the sectors of education, health and infrastructure development. India will be assisting Nepal in establishing schools and academic institutions, also contribute to providing education to the eastern and western regions and also providing scholarship for Himal children. Regarding health sector, India will be working on specialised hospitals to be established in remote areas and also on training the doctors in Himalayan Republic. With respect to Infrastructure, there will be collaboration on building roads and bridges. India will also be working on evading the water shortages and supplying the required fertilizers to Nepal.
