Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized on how India’s self reliance will also be good for the world and also mentioned that creating wealth and value which is “not only for ourselves but also for the larger humanity” is the core objective of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
Modi was addressing the launch of the kindle version of Swami Chidbhavananda’s ‘Bhagavad Gita’ through video conferencing, where Modi said the core message taken over from Gita is to take charge of actions and that 1.3 billion people of India have taken their call to action to make India self-reliant or Aatmanirbhar.
He said, “At the core of Atmanirbhar Bharat is to create wealth and values not only for ourselves but for the larger humanity. We believe that an Atmanirbhar Bharat is good for the world.”
Regarding helping the other countries, Modi said India has supplied medicines when needed for different countries in the world, and also supplying vaccines to the countries presently.
Modi said, “Our scientists worked in a quick time to come out with vaccines. Now, India is humbled that vaccines made in India are going around the world. We want to heal as well as help humanity. This is exactly what the Bhagavad Gita teaches us.”
Comparing the current conflicts with evolution of Bhagavad Gita, Modi said, “The world is fighting a tough battle against a once-in-a-lifetime global pandemic. The economic and social impacts are also far reaching. In such a time, the path shown in Bhagavad Gita becomes ever relevant.”
The epic, he said will be a driving force to overcome all the challenges experienced by humanity.
Modi further added, “In India, we saw many instances of this. Our people-powered fight against Covid-19, the outstanding spirit of the people, the courage of citizens, one can say that behind this is a glimpse of what the Gita highlights.”
Emphasizing on the emerging popularity of e-books amongst the youth, Modi said this will be a way to connect more youngsters towards reading the epic.
He wet to on praise Bhagavad Gita saying the beauty of it is in the depth, diversity and flexibility.
Modi persuaded the youngsters to read the holy book mentioning that Gita’s teachings are very practical and relatable and also added that in the fast paced lives, Gita will be an oasis of clam and peace.
