The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) will be investigating and examining the extension of the metro line between Anjanapura and Yelachenahalli scheduled for November 18 and 19, thereby gearing up for setting the stage for the launch of the Reach 4B of the Phase 2 of Namma Metro.

An intricate and comprehensive evaluation of the infrastructure, inclusive of the civil, signaling and telecommunication and others will be conducted in the upcoming days.
On assessment, it is discovered that all the systems, consisting f train safety and passenger safety norms are adhering to the safety standards, the CRS is anticipated to give approval for the public or commercial operations within a week.
Sources revealed to Deccan Herald, “There are instances where the metro lines get approval within a matter of three days if all the systems are found satisfactory. As safety assessment is a serious issue, there is no deadline fixed for CMRS. It is left to his discretion. He can approve it in three days or weeks.”
Regarding the date of inspection, BMRCL Managing director, Ajay Seth did give any concrete answer. Ajay said, “It is true that the inspection will take place shortly. We are hopeful of by the end of November we will be ready for commissioning the line.”
The commissioning of the railway line is also dependent on the convenience of the political leaders representing the state and central governments, said sources. The sources quoted, “This is a joint project of the state and the Centre. Naturally, we need to invite ministers and leaders from both governments. Considering the pandemic, the details of the inauguration event need to be thrashed out after obtaining the clearance from the CRS.”
The train services will be functional only between Nagasandra and RV Road on the green line on November 17,18 and 19. The services on the purple line will not be affected.
