India gifts ventilators to the Nepal government, health minister acknowledges India’s friendly move

India, with the objective of nurturing the friendly ties with Nepal, and spreading “positivity and enhanced coordination between the two countries”, has presented a gift of 28 ICU ventilators to the Nepal government to support their battle with Covid-19 pandemic.

Indian Ambassador, Vinay Mohan Kwatra, presented the ICU ventilators to the Health Minister Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal in a latest function held at the Ministry of Nepal. Dhakal, in return, acknowledged India’s help “in this time of crisis despite having troubled relations in the past”

While addressing the ceremony, Vinay Mohan Kwatra stated, “Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the Indian Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to spread positivity and enhance coordination between the countries. These 28 ventilators are a sample of it.”

Kwatra reemphasized on India’s solidarity and commitment which will be with the Government and the citizens of Nepal, reestablishing India’s commitment with respect to catering to all the necessary assistance in the future.

Amid the ceremony, Dhakal thanked the Indian Government and residents for “helping Nepal in the time of crisis”. He said, “Despite having troubled relations in the past, India has not hesitated in helping Nepal fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Further on, Dhakal repeated about Nepal’s inclination and commitment towards India by saying “Gaashakatayaara”, which in Nepali signifies sacrificing for the others benefit.

Earlier, on September 15, India had given 2,000 vials of Remdesivir to Nepal. Moreover, India had provided Hydroxycholorquine for treating patients affected by Coronavirus.
