Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has acknowledged the Union Budget 2021-22 presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) released a statement which talks about the list of benefits which will be provided to Karnataka from the Central Budget. The statement reveals that Karnataka has been the beneficiary of the Union Budget with the following allocations adhering to the several projects in the state which can be described as-
The 33 national highway projects for the state with an extensive length of 1,197 km at an estimated budget of Rs 10,904 crores, for which the foundation has been laid. For working on the infrastructure in Karnataka, a sum of Rs 116,144 crore have been alloted.
The industrial corridor which will be building in Tumkur district at an estimated budget of Rs 7,725 crores which will be a source to cater to the employment opportunities for 2.8 lakh people.
Karnataka will also have the manufacturing unit for the American car manufacturer Tesla.
Approval has been granted for construction of the Shiradi tunnel which is a connecting link between Mangaluru and Bengaluru which comprises of six tunnels with merged length of 13 km and ten bridges extending to 1.5 km length, alloted a budget of Rs 10,000 crores.
The second phase of the Bengaluru Namma Metro project will be alloted a sum of Rs 14,788 crore and the railway projects in Karnataka will be alloted a sum of Rs 4870 crores.
The Bangalore suburban project will be alloted a sum of Rs 23,093 crores. Also, the construction of the 13 highways at the estimated cost of Rs 21,000 crores in the Northern Karnataka region has been given the approval.
