Karnataka permits e-commerce delivery for all items amid the lockdown

With a change in the current guidelines of the ongoing lockdown in the state, the Karnataka government on Wednesday declared that the delivery for all items via e-commerce and home delivery will be permitted. This is one of three changes for the restrictions imposed till the lockdown ends on June 7.

In the earlier part of the month, the state government released a few orders which stated that only essential items will be delivered through e-commerce and home delivery services.

The addition to the rules was done by Manjunath Prasad, Principal Secretary of Revenue Department. The other changes are for the restrictions imposed on the movement of the advocates and for the firms to be open with 50 % employees. The order stated, “Movement of advocates, their paralegal personnel/ clerks, and other support staff to their respective offices is permitted only during court working days on producing ID card/authorisation. Offices of advocates/law firms are permitted to function with 50% of staff strength strictly adhering to COVID appropriate behaviour.”

The Karnataka Government had declared a weekend lockdown earlier on April 27, which was eventually made a complete lockdown on May 7.
