Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and hs government for the vaccine rollout and the commencement of the vaccination drive against Covid-19 on Sunday.
Solih took to Twitter to express his confidence and faith about the Covid-19 pandemic coming to end which has taken various lives around the world. He tweeted, “Congratulations to PM@narendramodi and the Indian Government for its landmark program to vaccinate India’s population against Covid-19. I’m highly confident that you’ll be successful in this endeavour and that we are finally seeing an end to the COVID-19 scourge.”
Earlier, on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the pan-India rollout of the Covid-19 vaccination drive via video-conferencing mode. The Covid-19 vaccination drive in India is considered to be the world’s largest drive which will be covering the entire length and breadth of the country. The aim of the initial phase of the drive is to vaccinate millions of healthcare and frontline workers and cover 3 crore people by the end o the first phase.
At several medical centres in the country, the two vaccines – Covishield and Covaxin are being administered from 9 am to 5 pm except for the days alloted for routine immunization programmes.
