Krafton Inc, South Korea based company, which is the parent company of PUBG Corporation, formalized a key deal with Microsoft Azure for hosting the company’s multiplatform products which is inclusive of all versions of the PUBG compatible for PCs, consoles and mobiles.
This partnership indicates a subtle revelation with respect to the return of the most popular game – PLAYER UNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS (PUBG) to the country. The union government had made a move to ban the game in September citing violation of security-data issues.
PUBG Corporation officially announced on Thursday its planning of India, pertaining to an investment of $ 100 million, which estimates to Rs. 746.36 crore. Further, the company iterated that the security of the data of the Indian players is a top priority and there will be frequent audits and verifications of the storage systems which will help in resolving the security concerns.
Earlier, Shenzhen-based Tencent Games had the publication authority for PUBG Mobile in India. However, post the ban induced by the Indian Government, PUBG Corp separated from the Chinese firm in September. There was also a block in the hiring process, but, no employee representing the Tencent Games was fired.
Currently, the company is taking a step ahead in India by formalizing on a dedicated India-specific subsidiary and an office that will recruit over 100 employees in sects such as business, esports and game development operations.
PUBG Corp stated, “To build and foster a healthy gameplay environment, in-game content will be improved and tailored to reflect local needs. Various aspects of the game will be customized for Indian gamers, such as the game now being set in a virtual simulation training ground, new characters automatically starting clothed, and green hit effects to reflect the virtual nature of the game. More importantly, the company will include a feature that places restrictions on game time to promote healthy gameplay habits for younger players.”
Further on, PUBG Corporation hopes that Indian government will withdraw the ban on PUBG mobile in the sub-continent.
