WHO chief appreciates India, PM Modi for providing support in the Covid-19 pandemic globally

World Health Organization (WHO) chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has thanked India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday for their consistent efforts and assistance to the global Covid-19 response against Coronavirus induced pandemic.

Tedros took to Twitter to express the gratitude, “Thank you, India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for your continued support to the global Covid-19 response. Only if we#ACTogether, including sharing of knowledge, can we stop this virus and save livelihoods.”

India has supplied Covid-19 vaccines to its neighbors which includes countries like Bhutan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Maldives, and Myanmar to help them in its own way to fight the pandemic.

On Friday, large batches of Covishield vaccine have been transported in Indian aircraft to other countries like Seychelles, Mauritius, Myanmar on Friday.

The United States on Friday appreciated ‘India’ for gifting vaccines to various countries like Maldives, Bhutan, Bangladesh, iterating on New Delhi has been a ‘true friend’ which is utilizing its pharma industry for the community.

Earlier today, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had declared about a flight carrying two million doses of Covid-19 vaccine which landed in Brazil. Jaishankar wrote on Twitter, “Trust the Pharmacy of the World. Made in India vaccines arrive in Brazil.”
