53 killed, 22 missing by havoc caused by Typhoon Vamco in Philippines

Typhoon Vamco, hit Philippines earlier this week, and took the lives of 53 people, as stated by the Philippine National Police (PNP) on Saturday.

According to the PNP, as many as 22 people are reported to missing from the flash floods and landslides induced by the typhoon, which hit through from the key island of Luzon over Wednesday and Thursday. There will be an increase in the count further with the conclusion from the on-going serach of the rescuers.

Presently, the victims from the provinces of Cagayan and Isabela are at the focus for being rescued in the northern Philippines. The rescuing footage from the Philippines Coast Guard revealed the provinces drowned in brown flood waters induced by water released from the Magat Dam.

Cagayan Governor, Manuel Mamba revealed in an interview with radio DZBB on Saturday that one rescuer was electrocuted in the night hours on Friday. Mamba, revealed that the flood was one of the worst ever, and urged for helicopters, as some of the flood impacted regions can not be accessed by land. He said, the evacuation centres were completely occupied, and that victims were shifting in with neigbours citing Covid-19 concerns.
