The Chamoli Police on Thursday revealed the details about the Uttarakhand glacial outburst stating that as of now as many as 61 bodies and 28 body parts have been recovered.
The police took to Twitter to reveal the current situation. In a tweet, they mentioned that from those, 34 bodies and 1 body part have been identified and DNA samples of 56 family members of family along with 49 bodies have been subjected to testing.
Alongside, the State Department Response Force (SDRF) have said that 12 of the teams are consistently working on the rescue operations for finding the missing people from Reni village to Srinagar. Meanwhile, the communication team is also making the best attempts for better communication in this area.
Ashok Kumar, Uttarakhand Director General of Police (DGP) revealed that one body part was found in the Tapovan tunnel while a dead body was found in north side of Raini villag, and also mentioned about the search operations to be ongoing, but taking time due to debris mud within the tunnel premises.
For identification of any emergencies, a water sensor warning system has been installed in the Raini village. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) had retrieved a body from the Tapovan tunnel, while digging inside the tunnel, said Aditya Pratap, Deputy Commandant, NDRF.
