Mysuru: A new scandal has surfaced in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), revealing alleged corruption that has caused a loss of over ₹300 crore to the government. The case is turning more explosive with each passing day, with reports of valuable plots being sold at throwaway prices.
Details of the Allegations:
It is alleged that 23 plots in Mysuru’s Vijayanagar, valued at over ₹1 crore each, were sold for just ₹3,000. This has resulted in a loss exceeding ₹300 crore to the state exchequer. Former MUDA Commissioner Dinesh and real estate businessman N. Manjunath have been accused of orchestrating this massive land scam.
Lokayukta Complaint:
The corruption was flagged a year ago when Krishna, a concerned citizen, filed a complaint with the Mysuru Lokayukta. The complaint named former MUDA Commissioner G.T. Dinesh Kumar, Special Tahsildar Shivakumar, Additional District Registrar Smt. Kavya, and real estate businessman N. Manjunath as key players in the scam.
Nature of the Scam:
The sale deed for the plots lacks details of any land lost by Manjunath. However, the plots were allegedly allotted under the pretext of being “incentive allocations.” Instead of paying the prescribed fee of ₹5 lakh, only ₹600 was paid per plot, causing significant financial loss to the government.
Loss and Public Demand for Action:
The scandal has reportedly drained over ₹300 crore from the state treasury. There is growing public demand for strict action against those involved in this corruption. READ THIS-Competitive Exam for PDO Posts Across the State: Mandatory Rules for Candidates Announced
