Blinken calls Jaish ankar to reaffirm US-India cooperation over regional security

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday had a dialogue with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, thereby reaffirmed the importance of US-India relationship amid the agreement to coordinate closely for further establishing peace in Afghanistan and restoring democracy in Myanmar.


US State Department spokesperson Ned Price shared the information about the talks between the US Secretary of State and External Affairs Minister.
Both Blinken and Jaishankar have given their agreement for close and frequent coordination advocating for a lasting peace and development for the citizens of Afghanistan, said Ned Price.


Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden has declared that all the US forces will be leaving Afghanistan till September 11 and other NATO allies inclusive of Germany have agreed positively to exit the country following US.


Further on, they reaffirmed their shared commitment over democratic values and mutual support for the restoration of democracy in Burma. The Myanmar Military pushed away the civilian government and announced a year long State of emergency on February 1 and a minimum count of 707 people have been killed ever since, as per United Nations.


Moving ahead into the dialogue, they also discussed about US-India cooperation over climate change, Covid-19 and other global challenges and assured to stay in close contact regarding these issues and other issues of mutual concern, according to Price.
