Covid-19 vaccination commences with dry run at three PHCs in Bengaluru scheduled for January 2

The Covid-19 vaccination drive will have a dry run at the three Primary Health Centers (PHCs) of the city on Saturday which will be a mock drill for the immunization programme.

The dry run will be organized at the Kamakshipalya urban PHC (BBMP West Zone), Vidyapeetha Urban PHC(south zone) and Hargade PHC in Anekal Taluk. With twenty-five health workers in each PHC, overall, 75 health workers have been selected for the dry run from 9 am to 11 am.

There will be everything needed to conduct Covid-19 vaccination drive which will exclude the vaccination procedure and the vaccine. The intent of the dry drill is to understand how the vaccination works and all the related work will be in accordance with the given protocols and guidelines.

The dry run will consist of three rooms, waiting areas, syringes, 25 dummy beneficiaries, two vaccinators who will administer the vaccine, adverse event following immunization kit, and observation rooms for AEFI will be kept ready.

The dummy beneficiaries will be registered and the vaccinated person will be observed in the AEFI observation room for half an hour. The similar procedure will be followed at the time of actual vaccination.
