Indian and Chinese Defence ministers had a meeting in Russian capital to discuss and make an attempt to resolve the rising border tensions in the eastern Ladakh region. This was the first direct and high-level contact between India and China since the constant clash and border tensions erupted months ago in which 20 Indian soldiers last their lives in the Himalayan region.

From the meeting held on Friday, intricate details are not yet revealed by both Rajnath Singh and also China’s Defence General Wei Fenghe. The meeting consisted of defence chiefs from China, India, Pakistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

India’s defence ministry had posted on Twitter about the meeting lasted for two hours and 20 minutes without disclosing any much details.

The Chinese ministry has written about the meeting on its website, stating that Wei told Singh that the two countries should “cool down” the situation and “maintain peace and tranquility”. Interestingly, it stated that the responsibility for the tension “lies completely with India”. “Not one inch of Chinese territory van be lost.”
