Farmers protesting along the Delhi borders build bamboo huts for heat protection

Spread the love

Farmers protesting against the three contentious laws have built bamboo huts to obtain protection from the scorching heat at the Ghazipur border with the theme of tricolour.

A farmer stated, “We have built huts in order to get respite from the scorching sun. You can see there are big boulders around which absorb heat quickly. So on the order of Rakesh Tikaitji, we are building these shelters.”

He further added, “We’re painting these eco-friendly huts like the tricolour to keep our morale high.”

“The decision to build these bamboo huts has been taken to get relief from the harsh sun. We are painting these huts with colours of the tricolour so as to show our love for the country,” said Rajbir Singh Yadav, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) Uttar Pradesh State President.

Yadav said, “We have meagre resources till we are doing what we can.”

Around lakhs of farmers will be marching along to the Parliament on foot in mid-May protesting against the three farm laws passed by the Centre last year, according to the statement given on Thursday by Hannan Mollah , General Secretary of All India Kisan Sabha (AIKS).

Mollah revealed to ANI about the march to Parliament to be held as “the government is not listening to the voices of the farmers.”

Thousands of farmers from different parts of the country have been protesting against the three controversial farm laws passed by the Centre from November 26.
