Heavy Rain Alert for Several Districts in Karnataka Over the Next Two Weeks: IMD

Bengaluru, November 28:
Karnataka is already grappling with the aftermath of heavy monsoon rains that have caused widespread challenges in several districts. Despite the onset of winter, rainfall continues in parts of the state, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting heavy rains in several districts until December 14.

Heavy Rain Forecast:
Due to the impact of Cyclone Fengal in the Bay of Bengal, heavy rains are expected in many districts of the state. From November 28 to December 6, heavy rainfall is predicted in Udupi, Chikkamagaluru, Davanagere, Chitradurga, Tumakuru, Bengaluru Rural, Bengaluru Urban, Hassan, Shivamogga, Mandya, Ballari, Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag, Uttara Kannada, and Koppal districts.

Moderate rainfall is likely in Dakshina Kannada, Ramanagara, Kolar, Chikkaballapur, Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, and Kodagu districts during this period.

Preparation Measures:
Amid ongoing rainfall, the state’s rivers, lakes, and reservoirs are already brimming, providing relief to farmers. A strong monsoon this year has been favorable for agricultural activities, bringing a sense of hope to the farming community.

IMD Advisory:
