Heavy rainfall inflicts havoc in Karnataka, CM Yediyurappa holds a review meeting

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa held a review meeting to discuss the havoc invoked by the torrential rain on Thursday with the officials representing the affected districts of Karnataka.

The review meeting which was held virtually was attended by district collectors, Superintendent of Police and Chief Executive Officers of districts that have been impacted by the floods.

The state is experiencing a critical situation with the heavy rains submerging the low-lying areas and water released from the major dams.

Yediyurappa stated the Centre was intimidated about the severe circumstances of Karnataka. He said, “The Centre is aware of the prevailing situation. I have just now spoken to the (Union) Home Minister who has assured us of every assistance.”
