India and Japan are scheduling a ‘2+2’ type meeting for the foreign and defence ministers based in Tokyo later this month, according to the Japanese media.
Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu along with Defence Minister Kishi Nobuo are expected to attend the meeting with Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar Prasad and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, as per NHK.
This will be a second meeting amid the two countries along with inaugural meeting between India and Japan Foreign and Defence Ministerial Dialogue (2+2) was conducted in November 2019 in New Delhi.
There will be an intricate discussion between the ministers revolving around ways for cooperating more for defence. Japan along with India had formalized an agreement in 2020 to permit the Self-Defence Forces along with the Indian military to cater to each others needs of food and fuel.
