India and Kyrgyzstan assess bilateral cooperation in domains of defence, capacity building

India and Kyrgyzstan conducted the 11th round of Foreign Office Consultants via video conferencing on Wednesday and assessed bilateral cooperation with particularly emphasizing the timely implementation of the decisions collectively taken along with the MOUs or agreements formalized amid the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Kyrgyzstan in 2019.

Vikas Swarup, Secretary (West) led the Indian side and Nuran Niyazaliev, the First Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic headed the Kyrgyzstan side, according to an official release of the Ministry of External Affairs.

Amid the consultations, both the countries assessed the bilateral cooperation in different domains such as political, economic, defence, commercial, development partnership, capacity building, consular matters, and cultural cooperation.

The dialogue specifically emphasized the periodic implementation of the decisions held and MOUs or agreements formalized when PM Modi visited the Kyrgyz Republic in June 2019. Both the countries also shared views on regional and international issues adhering to their mutual interest and further made an agreement to strengthen the cooperation in the UN and multilateral arena, stated the release.
