The overall fatalities related to Covid-19 in the country have been raised to 2,78,719.

Earlier, on May 12, the country recorded a death count of 4,205 due to Covid-19. Meanwhile, the country registered nearly 2,63,533 fresh cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. The figures are observed at a time when the chief of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus expressed concern over the surge in the cases in India and the hospitalization scenario.

Amid a press briefing on May 14, Ghebreyesus said, “India remains hugely concerning, with several states continuing to see a worrying number of cases, hospitalisations and deaths.”
