India under its ‘Vaccine Maitri’ initiative is helping various countries to fight through the pandemic, therein airlifting Made-in-India vaccines to the Horn of Africa – Somalia on Saturday.
The information about the consignment of vaccines airlifted to Somalia was shared by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Twitter. Jaishankar tweeted, “Reaching across the Indian Ocean. Made in India vaccines arriving in Somalia.”
The ‘Vaccine Maitri’ initiative and ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy started by India have been an assistance for the countries by providing ‘Made-in-India’ vaccines to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
As of now, India has supplied Covid-19 vaccines to twenty five countries throughout the world and forty-nine additional countries will be catered to the vaccine supply within the upcoming days, which includes Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean to Africa, South-East Asia along with the Pacific islands.
