The opinions of a group of medical experts have been compiled by the news agency Reuters, which projects India’s third wave of Covid-19 to arrive by October, adding that the third wave will be managed in a much better way than the second wave, and the Covid-19 pandemic will continue to be the health concern for more than a year.

The news agency Reuters conducted a survey that included 40 participants healthcare specialists, doctors, scientists, virologists, epidemiologists and professors from around the world. From the respondents who predicted the third wave, 85% of them said it would hit by October, and three of them projected it by August and 12 of them projected for September, and the remnants have predicted the third wave between November and February.

Although, more than 70 % of the experts had the opinion that any potential third wave will be controlled in a much efficient manner than the second wave.

Director of Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Dr. Randeep Guleria said, “The third wave would be more controlled as more vaccinations would have been rolled out, leading to a lesser number of cases. Also, there would be some degree of natural immunity from this wave.”

All of them had a divided opinion on the impact of the upcoming third wave on the children and for the population below 18 years of age. From 40, 26 of them said children would be highly susceptible, whereas 14 refuted it.
