Iran and Russia join hands on production of COVID-19 vaccine

Iran and Russia will work together for production of COVID – 19 vaccines in the Islamic Republic as the number of Coronavirus cases increased to 386,666 on Saturday. Alongside, a health official from Iraq passed a warning to the citizens to not play down the seriousness of COVID – 19 with the daily record of 4,644 new cases.

Iran, being the most affected country in the Middle East region, recorded new cases counting 1,894 raising the total cases to 384,666 according to the Xinhua news agency. The virus has claimed 22,154 lives in Iran, and the death count reported in the last 24 hours was 110.

The announcement regarding the collaboration of Iran and Russia for the COVID – 19 vaccine was done at a virtual meeting on Friday. The online meeting was presented between Kazem Jalali, Iran’s ambassador to Moscow and Kirill Dmitriev, the current CEO of Russian Direct Investment Fund as reported by the FARS news agency on Saturday.
