The Union Government is planning to establish an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Karnataka during the following financial year. This is a part of the centre’s initiative to widen the government based medical infrastructure in the country, as stated by the Union Minister of Health and Family welfare, Harsh Wardhan.
Harsh Wardhan was addressing the talk at a virtual meeting during inauguration of the Super Speciality Trauma Centre at Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) in Ballari on Monday. “..We have now planned to establish one more in Karnataka and the project would get approval in the next financial year.We would establish 22 such institutes across the country in the years to come,” he stated.
