Kulbhushan Jadhav case updates: Pakistan declares its verdict on India’s appeal for Queen’s Counsel

Pakistan declared its decision or verdict pertaining to India’s appeal for Queen’s Counsel in order to represent Kulbhushan Jadhav, who is of Indian origin. The announcement was given by Zaheed Hafiz Chaudhri, the Foreign Office spokesperson.

His announced that, “We have informed India that only those lawyers are allowed to appear in Pakistani courts who have a license to practice law in Pakistan. This is in line with international legal practice. There can be no change in this position.

Any barrister or advocate who has been granted as an appointed Counsel to the UK Crown on the basis of the recommendation of the Lord Chancellor is the Queen’s Counsel.

A former Indian navy officer, Kulbhushan Jadhav was arrested and charged to death with terrorism and espionage in April 2017. It was in July 2019, Pakistan was instructed by International Court of Justice for ‘effective review and reconsideration’, and India was granted consular access without further delay.
