The National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials , in-charge of the investigation of the riots and violence that happened in DJ Halli and KG Halli in East Bengaluru, have interrogated two Congress MLAs, BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan representing Chamaraipet constituency and Rizwan Ahmed representing Shivaji Nagar constituency.

Zameer was quizzed on Monday whereas Rizwan was quizzed on Tuesday. As per the NIA officials, the two MLAs were urged to be present for interrogation for the second time when summoned. Both were questioned regarding their presence at the location of riots on August 11 and also about their talking to the police officers and the locals at the scene as noted in several videos.

According to NIA officials, the MLAs revealed about getting information of the mob creating a ruckus and they were asked by the police officers and local leaders to take the situation in control. But the violence only aggravated and so they left the location. They reiterated that they had no involvement in triggering the violence what so ever.

The NIA officials took charge of the probe on September 22 with the case under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and several other IPC sections. In the process, they have raided more than 30 locations and arrested Sayed Sadiq Ali, the primary conspirator.
