Congress MP Rahul Gandhi had put forth questions about freezing of government jobs. Hours after, the Ministry of Finance has given a clarification about the same, saying, there will be no restrictions on filling up posts in the Government of India.

The Ministry of Finance posted the circular on Twitter saying,” There will no restriction or ban on filling up of posts in Govt. of India. Normal recruitments through govt agencies like Staff Selection Commission, UPSC, Railway Recruitment Board etc, will continue as usual without any curbs.”

To give further clarifications, Ministry of Finance tweeted, “The Dept. of Expenditure circular dated 04 Sept 2020 deals with internal procedure for creation of posts and does NOT in any way affect or curtail recruitment.” The circular mentioned about curtailing the expenditure by no printing or publishing of books, documents, etc on imported paper and events like Founder’s day etc might be curtailed if not avoided.
