No possibility of COVID-19 vaccine shortage: Health Ministry

The Union Health Ministry reemphasized on the subject about the shortage of vaccines and resolved the concerns saying there is no shortage at present and there is no such possibility in future.

The health ministry shared a 49 second video clip and Dr NK Arora, chair, Operations Research Group, National Task Force ICMR Delhi and advisor to national AEFI committee stated, “ There has been no shortage of Covid-19 vaccines in our country till date and there is no possibility of the shortage in future too.”

Arora mentioned the Co-WIN portal assures that no state experiences any shortage of vaccine supply. He stated that Co-WIN works not just for the welfare of the beneficiaries but also managing supply associated operations such as vaccine shortage.

With the video, the ministry stated, “Conversations are rife with rumours about shortage of Covid-19 vaccines in India. Watch this video to clarify your doubts, and put an end to such rumour-mongering.”

This is at the time when India’s vaccination drive opened up for the people with 45 years of age and above on April 1. The country is presently tackling the second wave with the surge in the cases, as India records 90,000 new cases and 714 deaths on Saturday due to the Covid-19 infection for the last 24 hours.
