Parliament Monsoon Session: Rajya Sabha approves two bills on Central Council of Homeopathy and the Indian Medicine Central Control

The Rajya Sabha has passed two bills which have taken over the ordinances relatively connected to the Central Council of Homeopathy and the Indian Medicine Central Council on Friday.

The Homeopathy Central Council (Amendment) Bill, 2020 demands another year to develop the Central Council of Homeopathy post utilizing the two years for the same. Likewise, the Indian Medicine Central Council(Amendment) Bill, 2020 wants the time period of one year for fixing up the central council and will also cater to a board of directors for executing the power in the interim time frame.

With respect to the approval of two bills, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan stated that Centre is completely focused on fulfilling the healthcare needs of every citizen at their affordable range.

It was on the first day of the in-process monsoon session o September 14, that two bills were proposed in the Upper House.

The Indian Medicine Central Council(Amendment) Bill, 2020 amends the Central Council Act, 1970 thereby trying to regulate the education and practice of the Indian medicine system. And, the Homeopathy Central Council (Amendment) Bill, 2020 amends its 1973 Act to provide for the supersession of the Central Council of Homeopathy.
