Pavithra Gowda and Another Accused Released from Jail

Bengaluru: Pavithra Gowda, who was jailed in connection with the Renukaswamy murder case, was released today (Dec 17) from the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison.

Six months ago, Pavithra Gowda, a close associate of actor Darshan, and other accused were arrested in this case. On Friday, Justice S. Vishwajith Shetty of the High Court’s single-judge bench granted bail to Pavithra Gowda. As all bail formalities were completed on Monday, Pavithra Gowda and the 14th accused, Pradhoosh, were released from jail this morning.

The court noted that the prosecution failed to provide a valid justification for the immediate arrest of the accused. Citing this legal lapse, the bench, in its 68-page judgment, stated that bail was being granted to all the accused.
