Competitive Exam for PDO Posts Across the State: Mandatory Rules for Candidates Announced

Bengaluru: The competitive examination for the recruitment of 150 Panchayat Development Officer (PDO) posts in the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department will be held across Karnataka on December 8. Conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), the exam has registered 3,86,099 candidates.

The exam will take place in 1035 sub-centers across 26 taluk centers in 30 districts. Paper-1 will be held from 10 AM to 12 PM, and Paper-2 from 2 PM to 4 PM.

Exam Schedule:

  • On December 7, a Kannada language test will be conducted from 2 PM to 4 PM.
  • On December 8, the first session (10 AM to 11:30 AM) will include the General Knowledge paper, while the second session (2 PM to 4 PM) will cover General Kannada, General English, and Computer Knowledge.

Precautionary Measures:
To ensure smooth conduct of the exams, several precautionary measures have been taken:

  • Police personnel will be deployed at every exam center.
  • Each center will have facilities such as toilets, drinking water, adequate lighting, ventilation, and wall clocks in every room.
  • CCTV cameras have been installed in all exam rooms.

Prohibited Items:

  • Candidates are not allowed to bring smartwatches, electronic devices, calculators, or mobile phones.
  • Women candidates may wear only mangalsutras and toe rings; other jewelry is prohibited.
  • Male candidates are prohibited from wearing full-sleeve shirts, fancy pants, shoes, or socks.

Exam Center Regulations:

  • A prohibition zone of 200 meters will be enforced around the exam center.
  • Typing, fax, and photocopy shops near the centers will remain closed.

KPSC has directed all candidates to strictly adhere to the guidelines for smooth and fair conduct of the examination.
