As the second phase of the vaccination drive against Covid-19 begins on March 1(today), Prime Minister Narendra Modi takes up the first dose of the cOvid-19 vaccine, thereby leading the way for the 132 crore population of Indians.
Modi took to Twitter to express the feeling after getting vaccinated. He tweeted, “Took my first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against Covid-19.”
In the other part of his tweet, he urged the people to take the vaccine. The tweet added, “I appeal to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. Together, let us make India COVID-19 free!”
Sister P Niveda, from Pududcherry administered the first dose of Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech’s Covaxin to PM Modi, as per the reports from ANI.
India on March 1 will begins the second phase of the largest vaccination drive in the world against Covid-19 where the target population will be around 27 crore people with above 45 years of age to break the Covid-19 transmission across the country.
The people who are eligible can access the application Co-WIN 2.0 software which will show the available slots after 9 am for booking at the 8,600 central government empanelled government hospitals and private hospitals who will open for the same till 3 pm.
