The Rajya Sabha session has taken a break till 9 am on Wednesday morning, due to the rising chaos and disagreements on Tuesday’s session amid the Opposition MPs. In the initial part of the session, the Opposition parties commenced a protest with a walkout at the Rajya Sabha post demanding the ongoing proceedings to be suspended and thereafter a discussion on the farmer’s agitation regarding the three controversial farm laws, which was turned down by Chairman Venkaiah Naidu.

Naidu urged the Opposition parties to hold the discussion on farm laws till Wednesday morning.

Various leaders representing the Opposition parties in Rajya Sabha took the call of suspending the business notices adhering to farm laws, which comes under Rule 267 of Rules and Procedures and Conduct of Business.

While addressing the issue, Sanjay Singh revealed to ANI, “What’s the use of running the Parliament when we cannot raise the issues of farmers.

The Opposition party members were not acknowledging Naidu’s decision and the explanation about the discussion to be pushed for Wednesday. He further added, “The Chairman wanted that we should raise farmer’s issue when there will be discussion over President’s speech but opposition wanted to discuss it on priority.”

He claimed that the laws were passed with minority in the Parliament and that the government is in-charge if the parliament is out of function.

Farmers have been protesting along the borders of New Delhi demanding to revoke the three controversial farm laws passed from November 26. The three laws are Farmers’ Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Act, 2020; the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement on Price Assurance and farm services Act 2020 and the Essential Commodities (Amendment) Act, 2020.
