Leader representing the Road Transport Corporation (RTC) workers iterated the strike which has gone over five days from Sunday will be going on though there is dismissal and suspension of hundreds of staff employees.

Kodihalli Chandrashekhar, President, Karnataka State Road Transport Employees League, iterated the workers with the members from their family will be protesting in front of the taluk and zilla panchayat offices on Monday.

Chandrashekhar added, “Instead of creating fear psychosis among employees, the government should call them for talks and resolve the issue.”

He further iterated the order released to ban the strike depicts the sheer ignorance of the government towards the needs of the staff workers. He said, “Our strike will continue and will be intensified. Only the government has to be blamed for this.”

According to the KSRTC, the four RTCs have been together working towards the successful operations of 2,663 buses of the corporation amid the 22 FIRs lodged against the miscreants who had caused damages to the vehicles. Around 5,836 private buses along with 1,000 buses from the RTCs of the surrounding states were also operated.

The BMTC revealed a count of 122 trainee and probationary staff employees were ousted from their service on Sunday as an outcome of their failure to give a response to the notices issued.

R Chandrashekhar, President of the league, stated that any negotiation with the government will constitute the reinstating of the ousted trainees and probationers. Alongside, the CITU is anticipated to declare its support to the strike on Monday morning.

The KSRTC has taken the call of giving further extension to the student passes and monthly passes giving consideration to the present strike.
