For the millions of people clinging to hope for a vaccine shot against Coronavirus, the Russian Health Ministry announced on Tuesday about the first batch of Sputnik V vaccine has been produced for the civilian’s circulation.According to the reports of Tass news agency, the Healthy Ministry said to the reporters that the supplies of the medication to the Russian regions are expected soon.
The ministry statement quoted, “The first batch of ‘Gam-COVID-Vac’ (Sputnik V) vaccine for the prevention of the new coronavirus infection, developed by the Gamaleya National Research Centre of Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, has passed the necessary quality tests in the laboratories of Rszdravnador (medical device regulator) and has been released into civil circulation.”
Russian Health Minister, Mikhail Murashko, had given an explanation earlier that the civilian production at this stage meant that the vaccination of citizens was from the risk groups, mainly teachers and doctors.
Moscow Mayor, Sergey Sobayanin, stated that he hoped a majority of the city’s residents would be vaccinated within several months on Sunday. Russia registered “Sputnik V” last month, becoming the first country that has approved a COVID-19 vaccine.
