Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla had a meeting with the United States Acting Ambassador Daniel B Smith on Wednesday and had a discussion about the India-US relations, regional issues, and cooperation in the United Nations.
They also spoke about their views regarding the present situation of COVID-19, the supply of vaccines, and cooperation in overcoming the crisis of the pandemic.
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Arindam Bagchi posted on Twitter, “Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla had a productive meeting today with US Acting Ambassador Daniel B Smith about India-US relations, regional issues, and cooperation in the UN; also discussed COVID-19 situation, supply of vaccines and cooperation in combating the pandemic.”
The Government of India is taking all the required initiatives to increase the availability of vaccines in the country via increased production in the country or supply from foreign countries.
India is currently involved with the Biden administration to assure the required components to manufacture vaccines in India are available in the right amounts.
