According to the data put forth by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) on Friday, there has been a 14.16 per cent increase in the wholesale automobile despatches from the factory gates though the overall production has dropped for August month.
There was an increase in the sales for August month as manufacturing companies were clearing out old stocks ahead of the BS-VI regime with only moderate production. Domestic wholesales recorded positive growth for three categories from total five. Considering the individual category, the growth for tractors was by 74.7 %, Passenger vehicles by 14.2 % and two-wheelers by 3 % y-o-y.
