All of these ministers are among the 17 MLAs from the prior JD(S)-Congress coalition, who have done a rebellion and given their resignations. Post their disqualification from the Legislative Assembly Speaker citing anti-defection law, there were taken to Mumbai by flight and lodged at a hotel.

Sudhakar wrote on Twitter about their appeal to the court. He wrote about it as a , “precaution to prevent the telecast of unverified reports”. Such reports can tarnish the image cultivated over a lifetime.”

After the political drama, all of them returned and took a call to join BJP. All of them had been re-elected in the 2019 elections and were subsequently inducted to the Cabinet in 2020, together with MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi, who had resigned from the Cabinet post a sleaze CD evolved.

Their petition was considered at the Additional City Civil Sessions court on Friday and orders are anticipated on Saturday, March 6.
