Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa on Tuesday stated that after convening the party meeting on April 18 to discuss the condition of the lockdown status and the future course of action.
Yediyurappa told reporters in Bidar, “There is no question of lockdown.” This happened a day after Chief Minister stated about the lockdown will be imposed depending on the situations.
Yediyurappa clarified that the Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) has given any specific recommendation for a lockdown. He said, “I am in the TAC. No one has recommended a lockdown.”
For the meeting scheduled on April 18, former state chief ministers Siddaramaiah and H D Kumaraswamy along with the expert members from the Technical Advisory Committee. Stressing on the support of the masses to contain the pandemic, there is already a night curfew enforced for the timings from 10 pm to 5 am. Yediyurappa stated, “People have to cooperate by wearing masks, maintaining hand hygiene and physical distancing. There is no other way.. With folded hands I want to ask the people to cooperate.”
Yediyurappa wished everyone peace and happiness for the occasion of Ugadi. He further added, “May the difficulties in life go away from everyone’s life. May this coronavirus pandemic too go away.”
