The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has organized the 13th edition of Aero India which is the international air show, will be commencing today in Yelahanka, Bengaluru.
Amid the event, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is going to release the DRDO export compendium, which is a fresh Procedure for Design, Development and Production of Military Aircraft and Airborne Stores (DDPMAS) document and other documents.
According to an official statement, the DRDO will be exhibiting the very recent defence technologies along with demonstrations on several systems. The flying displays of Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) system, Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), Tejas and LCA Navy will be the centre of attraction.
Aero India, conducted once in a span of two years, is a wide platform which gives the opportunity for the potential defence industries, aerospace enthusiasts, various start-ups and stakeholders to participate and observe the developments in defence at par with the international level and give an interaction forum for them to discuss about the latest developments with delegations and industry members and leaders from across the globe.
The statement read, “The Organisation with its vast defence design and development capability has been working towards Atmanirbhar Bharat and has taken up many policy initiatives to work closely with all stakeholders of the ecosystem. More than thirty laboratories of DRDO connected to aeronautical development are exhibiting their products and technological achievements in this mega event.”
At the event, it is proposed to exhibit 300 products, technologies, and innovations with the indoor, outdoor, static, flying display formats. DRDO plans to present indigenous technologies and systems with the intent of integrating stakeholders from the defence sector across the country, where 30 models will be put on display for the first time.
The multimedia based presentations, products and technology brochures will be accessible easily by scanning a QR code for download, which is considering the present scenario of Covid-19 pandemic.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, on Tuesday had inaugurated the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s (HAL) second Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) production line in Bengaluru and said that India cannot continue to have more dependence on any countries for protecting the borders. Singh said, “We cannot remain dependent on other countries for the defence of our country.”
