23 die in Norway post Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine administration

Twenty three people have lost their lives in Norway after receiving Pfizer’s Covid-19 vaccine just within a few days and as many as 13 deaths have been a result of the side effects of the shots, according to report released by New York Post citing the healthcare workers. The 13 of them were nurses by profession and were above 80 years.

The New York post revealed mentioning the reference as Sigurd Hortemo, chief physician at the Norwegian Medicines Agency said the general reactions to the vaccine which comprises of fever and nausea might have led to the fatal outcome in some frail patients.”

Over 30,000 people in Norway were administered the initial shots of Pfizer and Moderna Covid-19 vaccine from last month.

Steinar Madsen, agency’s medical director revealed the agency is not alarmed by this. He said, “It is quite clear that these vaccines have very little risk, with a small exception for the frailest patients. Doctors must now carefully consider who could be vaccinated. Those who are very frail and at the very end of life can be vaccinated after an individual assessment.”

It was reported that a count of 29 people have suffered side effects and 13 of them lost their lives. The officials iterated twenty one women and eight men had side effects. Apart from the death count, nine had severe side effects which included allergic reactions, extreme fever and discomfort and seven experienced less severe side effects like pain at the site of injection, according to New York Post.

A representative from Pfizer revealed the company is aware about the reported deaths after vaccine administration and are working with Norwegian Medicines Agency for getting the required inputs and information.
