Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Tuesday conducted a raid at the house of a BBMP official who was caught accepting a bribe of Rs 20 lakh in February.
The ACB officials investigated the residence of S N Devendrappa, Assistant Director, Town Planning, BBMP for the C sector of Amruthanagar. The ACB officials also checked the house of his aide Srinivasmurthy at Gupta Layout, Halasuru.
The officials revealed the details about the search that they found incriminating documents adhering to the bribery case. Devendrappa was caught taking a bribe on February 5 from a person of Rs 20 lakh in return of giving him an occupancy certificate for a building planned for construction by a private firm in Hulimavu. And, on the same day, the officials discovered around 50 related files in his car.
On February 8, the ACB sleuths conducted a raid at the properties of Devendrappa, thereby seizing 120 litres of liquors and 430 files which were about BBMP’s town planning.
Amid the raid conducted on Tuesday, the officials revealed they found the documents related to a residential buildings based in the Kempegowda Layout, and along with that four cars, a two-wheeler, Rs 25 lakh stored in bank lockers, a sum of Rs 45 in the bank accounts and household articles worth Rs 10 lakh.
Meanwhile, the ACB officials have further processed the verification of the documents, alongside, the excise department has filed for a separate case related to the liquor bottles.
