While speaking at a press briefing on Friday, Wang Wenbin, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated that China is closely monitoring the worsening pandemic situation of India. He said, “Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi sent a message of sympathy to Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar over the worsening situation of COVID-19 in India. He said that China should maximize its efforts to provide support to India.”

Earlier, last week, China’s state-run Sichuan Airlines had issued a temporary ban for all its cargo flights to India for a period of upcoming two weeks, which was observed as a blow to the efforts of the private traders to obtain the very much needed oxygen concentrators. However, China flipped the directed suspension orders and said it was working towards resuming the services with a fresh plan.
