81,000 vials of Remdesivir reach Mumbai from US

With the rise in the Covid-19 cases amid the second wave in India, several countries like Singapore, Germany, the US, and Australia are supporting the deficit health infrastructure of the country. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has revealed that around 81,000 vials of Remdesivir have reached Mumbai on early Wednesday morning.
MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi posted on Twitter saying, “Further elevating the India and the US Strategic partnership. Appreciate the shipment of over 81,000 vials of Remdesivir from the US that arrived early this morning in Mumbai (India).”
Alongside, Singapore has issued the medical assistance consignment comprising 3,650 oxygen cylinders and 8 ISO tanks. A tweet by Singapore High Commission stated, “3,650 oxygen cylinders, 8 ISO tanks and much more tremendous effort by Indian community and well-wishers of India to mobilise COVID-relief assistance from Singapore.”
Apart from US and Singapore, a chartered flight has left from Sydney with supplies to help with the supplies to treat Covid-19. Minister for Foreign Affairs, Australia stated, “A chartered Qantas flight departed Sydney carrying supplies to meet the needs identified by the Govt of India, including 1056 ventilators and 43 oxygen concentrators.”
Meanwhile, India has recorded a count of 3, 82, 315 fresh cases of Covid-19 and nearly 3,700 fatalities due to the deadly virus over the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry on Wednesday morning raising the overall caseload to 2,06,65,148.
