RWAs group together to vaccinate 5,000 in a week, may extend to more 10,000

ChangeMakers of Kanakapura Road Association (CMKRA), a union of more than 80 Residents Welfare Association (RWAs) is working on completing the vaccination of over 5,000 residents throughout six wards in the city last week. They are further going to raise the vaccination count till 15,000.

The paid vaccinations are organized in collaboration with four hospitals.

A spokesperson from the collective stated, “In less than a week, CMKRA has already held 10 vaccination drives in over 20 locations. The drives have not only helped residents from host apartment societies, but also people residing in smaller communities and private layouts in eight wards around Kanakapura Road, from Sarakki signal to NICE road junction.”

CMKRA is further planning to conduct free vaccination drives for more than 4,000 support staff, household help, security staff and their family members in the forthcoming weeks, they said.

The venues which will be vaccination centres in the apartment campus as sponsored by their RWA partners with the arrangements strictly adhering to Covid-19 protocols such as social distancing, crowd management along with safe administration of the vaccine.

The related hospital partners constitute a team of 8-10 Healthcare workers and an ambulance on standby for an adequate and fast drive.

Along with the vaccination drive, CMKRA relaunched the ambulance services which were operational amid the first wave in 2020.

The CMKRA agenda also comprises of Sanjeevani, a free transport service, which provides the senior citizens and residents without any transport access to book vehicle for doctors appointments and vaccination.

The wards covered by CMKRA include Uttarahalli, Yelachenahalli, Jaraganahalli, Gottigere, Anjanapura, Konanakunte, Vasanthpura and Hemmigepura.
