The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation (BMRCL) revealed that Namma Metro will be functional from 7 am to 6 pm starting from July 1. The BMRCL, in a statement released on June 30, revealed the metro will operate at an interval of 5 minutes in peak hours and with 15 minute intervals during the non-peak hours from Monday to Friday. ALthough, the services will be increased or decreased depending on the usage. BMRCL further added the services will remain unavailable on Saturdays and Sundays due to the weekend curfew.

Starting from July 1, along with the smart cards, ticket tokens will also be issued in the single journey. The BMRCL stated tokens will be given at ticket counters and can be purchased via cash or QR codes at the counter. The tokens were discontinued last year due to Covid-19 transmission.

The Namma metro services resumed from June 21, in fixed timings from 7 am to 11 am and 3 pm to 6 pm on weekdays having 50 % seating capacity, adhering to the guidelines issued by Karnataka government.

The passengers were earlier permitted to travel in metro only by using smart cards, and cash was not allowed for the same. The passengers are subjected to thermal screening at the entry and have to strictly adhere to Covid-19 appropriate behavior within the train and station premises.
