Bengaluru: The South Western Railway (SWR) has announced that train services between Bengaluru and Mysuru are expected to be delayed for a few days due to ongoing maintenance work. Maintenance activities between Kranthiveera Sangolli Rayanna (SMVT) Station and Kengeri will cause some trains to run up to 90 minutes behind schedule.
Details of Delayed Trains:
The SMVT Bengaluru-Mysuru Daily Passenger Special Train (08270) will depart 90 minutes late on December 22, 24, 27, 29, 31, and January 3 and 5, 2025. Additionally, the same train (06270) will be delayed by 30 minutes on December 26 and January 2, 2025.
Introduction of New Train Numbers:
Starting January 1, 2025, South Western Railway will assign regular train numbers to 116 special trains. Previously, special train numbers began with the digit ‘0’. Going forward, these numbers will begin with ‘5’, ‘6’, or ‘7’. Passengers can check the updated train numbers on the official South Western Railway website: https://swr.indianrailways.gov.in.
Standardization of Train Services:
Many special trains, introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic and other events, were operating with higher ticket fares and required frequent extensions of their operational periods. To address these issues, SWR has now converted these special trains into regular services, with reduced ticket fares.READ THIS: One Nation, One Election Bill Presented in Lok Sabha: Strong Opposition from Parties
